Lists

A List in Abelo is a static collection of customer contacts. Lists are ideal for one-off promotional broadcasts, VIP customer groups, event guestlists, or contacts imported directly from offline retail points of sale.

Unlike dynamic segments that update automatically based on customer behavior, contact lists maintain a fixed group of profiles until explicitly modified.

1. Overview

Understanding when to use lists versus dynamic segments helps you choose the right targeting mechanism for your campaigns:

Feature Static Lists (Audience > Lists) Dynamic Segments (Audience > Segments)
Membership Type Static: Contacts added during file upload or manual association. Dynamic: Evaluated in real time using rules and purchase behavior.
Data Source Spreadsheet upload (Custom CSV or Shopify export) or lead widgets. E-commerce orders, total spend, RFM activity, and customer tags.
Updates Updated by uploading a replacement CSV file or editing profiles. Profiles enter and exit automatically as customer actions occur.
Best Used For Offline retail contacts, promotional guestlists, imported subscriber bases. High-spenders, repeat buyers, recent shoppers, lapsed customer win-backs.

  • Phone Numbers: Must be formatted in international E.164 format (e.g., +306912345678).
  • Template Available: You can download the official sample CSV template directly from the upload modal to ensure column headers match expected schema fields.
