The Abelo Web SDK bridges the gap between your online store and your messaging channels, turning anonymous website visitors into authenticated subscribers and active shoppers.

By embedding a lightweight script tag on your storefront, you can effortlessly display interactive lead capture widgets, track high-intent shopping behavior like abandoned carts, and trigger real-time conversational messaging.

1. What the Web SDK Powers

Embedding the Abelo Web SDK provides key onsite capabilities:

  • Lead Capture Forms & Popups: Displays subscription widgets, coupons, and consent collection popups configured under Growth & Leads.
  • Visitor Identification: Matches visiting shoppers to customer profiles when they interact with personalized campaign links.
  • Cart & Browse Tracking: Captures abandoned checkouts and product browsing events to power automated follow-up messages.

2. Installing the Script Snippet

To install the Web SDK on any website or custom e-commerce platform:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations in the CMS.
  2. In the Web SDK Integration card, locate your unique script tag:

  1. Click Copy Snippet.
  2. Paste the snippet immediately before the closing </head> tag across your website templates.

3. Allowed Domains Configuration

To protect your account and prevent unauthorized websites from initializing the Web SDK using your API key, Abelo enforces a domain allowlist.

Adding Allowed Domains

  1. In the Web SDK integration card, locate the Allowed Domains section.
  2. Click Manage Allowed Domains.
  3. Add each root domain and subdomain where the SDK will run (for example, yourstore.com and shop.yourstore.com).
  4. Click Save Changes.

Requests originating from domains not present in this list are automatically rejected by the SDK.

4. 1-Click Shopify App Embed

If your organization has connected a Shopify store, you do not need to edit your theme code manually:

  1. In the Integrations section, locate the Shopify embed card.
  2. Click Enable on Shopify.
  3. You will be redirected to the Shopify Theme Editor with the Abelo Web SDK App Embed selected.
  4. Toggle the embed to On and click Save in the top-right corner of the Shopify editor.
