Shopify Integration

Abelo connects directly to your Shopify store to synchronize customer profiles, order history, checkout events, and product catalogs in real time.

Features

  • Automated Customer Sync: Ingests new customer registrations, marketing consent updates (email & SMS), and default shipping phone numbers.
  • Order & Revenue Tracking: Synchronizes placed orders, fulfillment status, and order totals to power dynamic segmentation (RFM) and track campaign conversion attribution.
  • Product Catalog Ingestion: Synchronizes products, variants, pricing, and images for use in campaign message builders and product recommendations.
  • Abandoned Checkout Recovery: Tracks initiated checkouts to trigger automated recovery notifications.

Installing the Abelo Shopify App

  1. In the Abelo Dashboard, navigate to Integrations > Shopify.
  2. Click Connect Shopify Store.
  3. Enter your Shopify store domain (e.g. your-brand.myshopify.com) and click Install App.
  4. You will be redirected to the Shopify Admin App authorization page. Review the requested permissions:
    • Read & Write Customers (read_customers, write_customers)
    • Read Orders & Checkouts (read_orders, read_checkouts)
    • Read Products (read_products)
  5. Click Install app to complete the connection.

Initial Data Backfill

Upon successful authorization, Abelo initiates an initial backfill job:

  1. Products & Collections: Synchronized immediately.
  2. Historical Customers & Orders: Backfilled in background batches (up to the last 12-24 months of order data depending on store size).

Historical Data Sync

During the initial backfill, segments will update dynamically as customer order totals are computed.

Real-Time Webhook Synchronization

Abelo automatically configures the following Shopify webhooks:

  • customers/create, customers/update, customers/delete
  • orders/create, orders/updated, orders/fulfilled, orders/cancelled
  • checkouts/create, checkouts/update
  • products/create, products/update, products/delete

When a customer checks or unchecks "Keep me updated with news and offers" during Shopify checkout:

  • Abelo immediately updates the customer's promotional consent status.
  • If a customer requests GDPR deletion or unsubscribes in Shopify, Abelo marks the profile as unsubscribed across messaging channels.
